LOST in LOST

Wednesday 25 February 2009

Have you ever heard about that tv show which a plane crashes into an island, and since then you fear traveling again, because you're afraid of the smoke monster or you're afraid that you would be kidnaped by the Others?

Well, this tv series have reached the fifth season, and a lot of fans too. Lost is great, and I envy the writers (seriously, how can they have this much of creativity?).

I'm following the newest season, the fifth, and I am confused, completaly Lost (pun-intended). I mean, how that person who died, is back again? Or, how that other person simply DOESN'T die? And, how so, TIME TRAVELING?

I can't say anything else, otherwise I'll get a terrible headache (If I get nosebleed, like Charlotte, I'll end up in a mental asylum, mark my words)

Ok, I'm completaly lost on Lost.

Heath Ledger

Monday 16 February 2009

Obviously, everyone had already heard of him. Or already seen him on the tv, newspapers, etc etc. It's the australian actor, who appeared on that famous movie with the most classical vilan quote of the theaters:

"Why so serious?"

Who is him? Heathcliff Andrew Ledger. Adorable, talented, handsome, charming and smart.

But, the disaster knocked on the door: he was found dead in this apartament in New York, with only 28 years. Ledger just had completed the scenes from the great blockbuster, Batman: The Dark Knigh, which he did the paper of the criminal Joker. He left his daugther Matilda (the mother being the actress Michelle Williams, who he met on the Brokeback Mountain movie, and who he was married to 2005 untill 2007)

Heath Ledger was born in Perth, in 4th. april of 1979, and started to do amateur theater at the age of 10. When he reached 16, he moved to Sydney to try the career as an actor. Soon, he got papers in movies to the australian TV.

After working in independent movies, Heath moved to Los Angeles and acted in the movie 10 Things I Hate In You, where he sings the music "Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You", one song which Muse has covered (and which I love). T
he movie is based on a Sheakespeare book.

He worked in the movie Lords of Dogtown and the movie Casanova. Casanova was a movie that I've only seen one small part, but I loved what I watched. I'll try to watch it completaly. Ledger interpretation is flawless a
nd the movie is quite funny.

In 2005, he did the part of Ennis Del-Mar in the movie that received Oscar nominees, Brokeback Mountain, which two cowboys fall in love and keep their affair in secret. At the same year, he did the movie Brothers Grimm, which is absolutely fantastic. The special effects, sets and costumes are perfect, therefore the plot.

In the movie Candy, in 2006, he played the characterer Dan. The movie tells the story about a love triangle: Candy (interpreted by Abbie Cornish); Dan and heroin. The couple, Candy and Dan, are both poor and drug addicted. It tells how they got the
money to pay the drugs, and it shows the both sides of the coin; how being a drug addicted is fun sometimes and in the majority of the cases, bring terrible things. In the year next to it, he worked as Bob Dylan in the movie I'm Not There.

In 2008, he was chosen to be the Joker, the funny villain of Batman. In this movie, the Joker treats the city of Gotham with explosions and murderes. The Joker himself says he's a "guy without plans, he just do things".

Now... My opnion about the movie... Ok, it sucked. The effects are good, the set (CHICAGO! I've already been there! :D ) and everything else; but the plot was really weak. I only watched because of the Joker. I mean, that ridiculous Batman's voice was totally unecessary.

Anyway, I started to watch Batman's old cartoons (to recover my childhood, maybe?) . The cartoon's Joker is completaly different f
rom the Ledger's Joker. The cartoon one, for example, is funny, he makes little jokes every single time, and he isn't scary. Ledger, otherwise, raises goosebumps on your arms! His acting was impressing, and it was the best acting I've seen so far. Besides Voldemort, I think he's my favorite bad guy.

Neverland

Sunday 15 February 2009
Ok, so I started to write a story. It won't be long, but it won't be short. I'll always post here, whenever I can, one chapter. I still don't know the name for all the characteres, nor everything that will happen, but the ideias will flow...

For now, I'll post a little cover that I did:

Second star on the right and then straight, untill the break of the dawn!

Ps: This image is not mine. I found it on deviant art.

Ulysses

I'm completaly chocked.

Besides creating a G-R-E-A-T song, they also create a total non-sense and crazy, but a G-R-E-A-T video.

Only listening to the music you feel a little high, and now watch the video. You really feel like you're being transported to another world, and you'd like to enter the video to be there with Alex, Nick, Paul and Robbie (yeah, I call him like that).

Speaking of Franz Ferdinand, they just have released a new CD, "Tonight". The CD is exactaly the way that the lead singer, Alex, wanted: dancing beats, that takes out the listener of the boredoom, and make him sing along. This is, in my opnion, the best CD by far of the group untill now.

I can't stand not listen to the voice of Alex. Obssesed? Almost there. My fave songs are (or, the songs I have to listen everyday otherwise I'll have a breakdown):

  • Ulysses
  • Lucid Dreams
  • Darts of Pleasure
  • Eleanor Put Your Boots Back On
  • Twilight Omens
  • Take Me Out
  • Do You Want To?
  • This Fire

Franz Ferdinand got an indie, alternative and pop style, and it's perfect for a night out. Theirs lyrics are kinda strange sometimes, for example the song "Twilight Omens", from their brand new CD "Tonight":

"I wrote your name upon the
Back of my hand
Slept upon it
Then I woke up
With it backwards on my face
Reading forwards from my mirror
To my heart"

...

Ok, then.

But even so, the music is great, and this wierdo lyrics are what make my day and put a smile on my face. It's totally worth it.

Ps: I hope they come to Brazil this year, when they came last time I unfortunately did not have heard of them.

Friendship

Wednesday 11 February 2009

When you're down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, Oh nothing is going right
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest night

Funny thing, friendship is. You are alone, suffering for something that makes tears fall out of your eyes... And that's when you fell more alone than ever. You feel there's no more ground beneath your feet, there's no air to breathe; when you feel you don't belong more to that place.

But him, always will be there.

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You've got a friend

It's the happiest day of your life, you just received that wonderful news; you'll have a baby brother. You just gradueted from college. You started your first day at the job you love. You are radiant when the love of your life says he (or she) wants to spend the rest of life together with you.

But him, always will be there.

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I'll come running, oh yes I will
To see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you got to do is call
And I'll be there, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Him, always will be there. To comfort you, to help to guide your way through the darkness. He'll be there, to share that joy with you. He'll be there to comit crimes, share great laughs, discuss about a silly summer love, give you advices, talk about school grades, what to wear on that party, about a soccer match.

He'll always be there, no matter what.

Him, your friend.

Aint it good to know you've got a friend.
You've got a friend.

Song: You've got a friend.

Dedicated to everyone who always stayied by my side, everyone who I created worlds and stories, everyone who I talked about broken hearts, to the ones who I spend hours talking, to that anonymous friend; to all that helped me being who I am.

What I'm doing here?

Sunday 8 February 2009

What I'm doing here?
What am I writing?
Who am I?

There are certain questions that no one can answer. There are certain questions that don't need to be answered.

However, I think I can answer those three questions. I'm here to create a blog (duuh), I'm writing something to introduce it. Now, the last question I really can't answer.

I can assure you that I'm a girl, I like to read and write, and I love music and films. But, I did not ask my genre, I did not ask what I like: I asked who I am. And I am afraid that I really don't know the answer for that. Relax: I'm not going to talk about this the whole blog, my blog isn't about that.

I'll write about random things, non-sense things, things that if you look closely have sense, sarcastic stuff, critics and compliments, and about wierd episodes of daily routine.

Excited?
Cause I am.
